RNC provided more information this morning on an arrest in connection with the shooting death of 30-year-old Terry Griffin on Salter Place in St. John’s last Thursday morning.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says 48-year-old Corey Snook is facing a number of charges in connection with the homicide.
They include first degree murder, careless use of a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorised, and three counts of breach of a release order.
Snook was taken into custody on Gros Morne Place last Thursday morning and held on a number of previous charges.
They include uttering threats and assault with a weapon. Terry Griffin was one of the victims of those previous incidents according to Constable Cadigan.
Snook made a brief court appearance this morning before he was returned to jail pending his next court dates on Aug. 12 and Aug. 19th.
Officers are continuing to seek any video footage from the area of Salter Place, Gros Morne Place and Columbus Drive on Thursday morning between 9:30 and 11:30.
