Public safety minister John Haggie is receiving praise on social media for his blunt response to verbal abuse that some public servants have had to endure in the last few days.
Premier John Hogan first brought up the situation during yesterday’s fire briefing.
He says some people have been using a tip line set up by government to vent their frustrations about decisions that have been made.
Haggie did not hold back when it was time to share his thoughts on the situation.
“And for those assholes who were on the phone yesterday talking crap to our staff – stop it. You’re the same people who trolled us during COVID. It was unacceptable then, and it’s unacceptable now.”
