The rain is finally falling in many areas of the province after an August that has seen no precipitation whatsoever.
While rainfall amounts are not expected to be especially high, it is a welcome relief in light of three major wildfires burning on the island.
Rain, at times heavy, is in the forecast for parts of the northern Avalon and fire crews battle two out-of-control fires, one that has burned through nine communities on the Conception Bay North Shore, and the other at Paddy’s Pond.
