A 33-year-old Stephenville man is facing a number of serious charges after attempting to flee from police on a dirt bike.
Bay St. George RCMP attempted to pull the man over after noticing a dirt bike speeding along Gallant Street in Stephenville Tuesday afternoon. Instead of pulling over, the driver took off.
The dirt bike was eventually located on Dump Road but once again it sped away from police.
The accused was eventually arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with dangerous driving, and two counts of flight from police. He’s also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for numerous infractions regarding lack of proper driving credentials.
The bike was seized and impounded.
