There is a flurry of government news conferences this morning as a provincial election call looms – including the release of the long-awaited Education Accord.
The process for that document began a year-and-a-half ago with a goal of transforming the education system in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The interim report was released earlier this year.
Education Minister Bernard Davis, and accord co-chairs Dr. Anne Burke and Dr. Karen Goodnough will release the report at MUN’s Signal Hill Campus at 9:30 a.m.
Government will also provide an update on the progress being made on Health Accord NL this morning.
Health minister Krista Lynn Howell and NLHS CEO Pat Parfrey will give that update at 10 a.m. at MUN’s Faculty of Medicine.
Meanwhile, Premier John Hogan is in Labrador to make two announcements today.
First, he will announce a new Labrador Air Access program at the Wabush airport at 11:15, then he will make an infrastructure announcement at the Gateway Labrador Visitor Centre in Lab City at 2 p.m.
VOCM News will have the details on all of these announcements as they become available.
