A 37-year-old St. John’s man has been arrested and charged in connection with a reported sexual assault in the capital city.
RNC were called around noon on Thursday to a report of a sexual assault in the area of Whiteway Street.
Officers determined that a woman had been assaulted by a man who she knew. The suspect, who had left the scene in a vehicle before police arrived, was found by patrol officers a short time later and taken into custody.
The accused, who is facing a charge of sexual assault, is being held in custody.
