The provincial leaders’ debate takes place this evening giving voters an opportunity to hear what each of the parties have to say on a number of issues.
Memorial University political scientist Kelly Blidook says traditionally, leaders have used debates to score political points through zingers and sound bites, but he wants to see more concrete information on what distinguishes each leader from the others.
“I want to see it done in a way that really tells me what I can expect, what are the policies, and…really understand what the differences are, and in a substantive way, what it means to me as a voter.”
The debate is a joint production by VOCM, Big Land FM, CBC, NTV, and The Telegram. It will be broadcast live tonight from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
