A 35-year-old St. John’s man is facing numerous weapons-related charges after his arrest on outstanding warrants earlier this week.
RNC took James Halleran into custody in the centre city area yesterday afternoon.
A search revealed that Halleran was wearing body armour and officers also located a .22 caliber rifle and ammunition.
Halleran is scheduled to appear in court on the following charges:
– Careless use of a firearm
– Carrying a concealed weapon
– Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized
– Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
– Possession of a weapon obtained by crime
– Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order
– Contravention of use or storage of a firearm
– Tampering with a serial number of a weapon
– Three breaches of probation
-Three counts of failing to appear
