The Liberal Party has requested judicial recounts in three electoral districts.

The recounts will occur in Lewisporte-Twillingate, Placentia West-Bellevue, and Topsail-Paradise if approved by the courts.

The recount in Lewisporte-Twillingate, where Liberal incumbent Derek Bennett lost to PC Mark Butt by 18 votes, was already announced.

In Placentia West-Bellevue PC Jeff Dwyer beat Liberal Brain Keating by 64 votes, and in Topsail-Paradise PC Paul Dinn garnered 102 more votes than Liberal Dan Bobbett.

The Liberal Party says the recounts will ensure every vote is properly accounted for.

There’s no word yet as to when the recounts will take place.
