Another government minister is deleting his personal Facebook feed, but says it’s due to an influx of personal messages posted to his messenger account from constituents and others that may leave them vulnerable to identity theft or fraud.
Chris Tibbs says as Minister of Municipal Affairs, he’s directing people to his MHA Facebook page to make sure people’s information is kept secure.
He says he’s going to leave his personal Facebook page active for the next few days just to get the word out, but is directing all business to his MHA page “where it’s much more secure and confidential. People have been messaging me with certain details about their private lives through my Messenger page, which is not secure at all. We know there are a lot of bad actors out there – I want to make sure that your security and your privacy is kept confidential.”
