RCMP have laid a number of charges after a disturbance at a home in Bonavista late last week.
Thirty-five-year-old Derek Roger Hammond of Catalina has been charged with assaulting a police officer with a weapon and uttering threats.
Police were called to a home on Harris Street around 1:40 last Thursday afternoon.
RCMP say responding officers were confronted by the accused who was wielding a weapon at the time.
Hammond allegedly made threats and refused to comply with police commands at which time he was arrested after a brief struggle.
There were no injuries.
He’s scheduled to return to court December 2nd on charges of assaulting a police officer, two counts of uttering threats and a charge of resisting arrest.
