A couple of unwelcome guests who refused to comply with police demands to leave a home in Happy Valley-Goose Bay were finally persuaded when police dog Phox got involved.
RCMP were called to a home on Hamilton River Road around 9:00 p.m. last Saturday after being told that two unwanted people had entered the home and refused to leave.
Phox was then brought in and they left without further incident.
RCMP say the pair was arrested and a number of items related to drug trafficking were seized from their person.
According to police, a further search of the property resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cocaine, pills, cash cell phones and other items.
Phox cleared the property, and was also involved in the search for drugs.
Thirty-seven-year-old Deon Lee of St. Mary’s and 48-year-old Michelle Mugford of Happy Valley-Goose Bay were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine.
They were released to appear in court in February.
