A young boy who lived in Newfoundland with his family until recently has died from carbon monoxide poisoning at an apartment building in Regina.
According to The Regina Leader newspaper, 11-year-old Henry Losco was declared dead at the scene and his father, Sergio, remains in intensive care.
The family moved from the St. John’s area to Regina a few weeks ago to pursue a career opportunity but in the days after the move, Sergio told The Leader that they experienced different symptoms including tiredness and headaches. His wife, Marina Hills, arrived home last Friday to find both her husband and son unconscious on the floor.
Firefighters later evacuated the building to find dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, and linked the leak to ongoing mechanical work in the building.
