The 5th Canadian Ranger Patrol Group and Junior Canadian Ranger are conducting training sessions in and around 5 Wing Goose Bay later this week.
Some 30 members will be in the vicinity of the base from Thursday, January 8th to Tuesday, January 13th learning traditional life and survival skills like dog sledding and cooking.
Junior Canadian Rangers hoping to become members of the Canadian Ranger Patrol Group must have local knowledge and be able to operate efficiently on the land in order to move on.
The 5th CRPG provides patrols for public safety and national security in sparsely populated northern, coastal and isolated areas of Newfoundland and Labrador.
