The Association of Seafood Producers has a new leader.

Lorelei Roberts will take over as executive director at the end of the month.

Formerly a deputy minister of fisheries and aquaculture, Roberts has been involved in senior leadership roles in the public sector.

She replaces former executive director Jeff Loder who resigned last summer.

Kim Quinlan, the chair of the board, says she will help their members build a strong, sustainable and globally competitive seafood sector.
