Members of a cabinet committee focused on the Conception Bay North wildfire toured several affected communities today.

Government struck the committee in November, replacing a similar cabinet committee formed by the previous government.

It is led by Justice and Public Safety Minister Helen Conway Ottenheimer and includes several MHAs.

Government says the committee will have a first-hand look at the damage caused and hear from those affected by the wildfires that destroyed hundreds of structures.

Officials say they will work with local leaders, emergency organizations and responders and the community to make sure people get the help they need.
