NDP Leader Jim Dinn is raising questions about imagery and messaging being used by Premier Tony Wakeham’s government that appear to be ripped directly from U.S. President Donald Trump’s Republican party.
Dinn posted two images, one used by U.S. House Republicans on their first 100 days in government, next to an eerily similar one posted this week by Premier Tony Wakeham.
The Republican post shows two simple statements, Promises Made, Promises Kept, divided by a line and with President Trump’s signature beneath.
Premier Tony Wakeham posted a strangely similar image this week with the same words, divided by a line and underscored with the premier’s signature.
Dinn is asking the premier and the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador whether they’re “working for the people of this province and country, or whether they are more concerned with aligning themselves with MAGA Republicans who are actively threatening our sovereignty?”
VOCM News has sought a response from the Premier’s Office.
