Opposition Leader John Hogan says he’s worried that the provincial government is politicizing the health care system.
Premier Tony Wakeham recently touted government’s “refresh” of the health care system with the removal of Pat Parfrey as CEO of NL Health Services.
Hogan accuses government of making “change for the sake of change.”
“The CEO of the health authority was the (co-) author and the architect of the Health Accord. Really what you saw was not a refresh, it was change for the sake of change, and what they did was brought in an old conservative ally to lead the board of the health authority.”
“So, now I worry that it’s not better health care ‘for all,’ I worry that they’re going to politicize health care.”
