A former NDP candidate is disappointed with what she considers to be the lackluster approach taken by the provincial government to Black History Month.
Laurabel Mba says she’s “livid” after reaching out to government on two separate occasions to acknowledge Black History Month only to see little, to no action.
She calls Black History Month a non-partisan issue and she’s disappointed with how little activity she’s seen on government’s part more than a week into February.
She says the premier ran on a platform ‘for all of us’ but she doesn’t know who all of us is, “if we can’t address a non-partisan issue, with something as simple as Black History Month which is 30 years being celebrated in this country but not 30 years being celebrated in this province…I’m a little concerned.”
