A driver’s plan to leave RNC in the dust last night didn’t end up working in his favour.
Officers attempted to pull the car over on Topsail Road in Mount Pearl around 1:50 this morning, but the driver hit the gas and took off.
RNC followed the car, which then turned up a road where officers had just clewed up a response to a separate situation.
With nowhere left to turn, the car came to a stop.
The 30-year-old man was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police and breach of a court order not to drive a motor vehicle.
He was also issued tickets under the Highway Traffic Act for driving without the proper credentials, running a red light and failing to notify transfer of ownership of the vehicle.
He was taken into custody to appear in court today.
