A Marystown man has been arrested and charged following an assault at a remote cabin on the Burin Peninsula early Saturday morning.
RCMP were first called around 3:30 a.m. following reports that a man had assaulted a group of people and caused “substantial” property damage.
They say the suspect left the scene on a snowmobile, but later returned to the scene where he was arrested without further incident.
One person had to be taken to hospital for treatment of injuries which were not life threatening. .
Now, the 38-year-old man has been charged with two counts of assault while choking, suffocating or strangling, two counts of assault, five counts of uttering threats, uttering threats to damage or destroy property, and mischief over $5,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
