RCMP are turning to the public for help after they say a man stole gas and booze from a gas station in Clarenville.

Police were first called to the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Manitoba Drive just after 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

They say a man pumped gas into his vehicle, took a quantity of alcohol from inside the store, and left without paying for any of it.

The suspect is being described as a white man, possibly in his 30s, with dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and black pants at the time, and was driving a black Hyundai Accent with peeling paint.

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
