The executive director of the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival says the workshops and programming they offer is important because it shows young artists that it is possible to succeed in the film and media world.
The festival is hosting several industry development sessions over the next few weeks, including a mock writers rooms masterclass and script consultations.
Jenn Brown hopes the sessions show people that “this could be me” and “if you see it, you could be it.”
She says they want people to see that their voice, perspective, and life matters – and that they can share it through film.
