TThe deal has yet to be finalized, but progress is being made on the Bay du Nord project.
The provincial government says the project is approaching the end of decision gate 2 and officials are optimistic it will progress to decision gate 3 “fairly quickly.”
Energy Minister Lloyd Parrott says the CEOs of the major proponents toured two fabrication sites yesterday.
“As we speak right now, the CEOs of BWO, SIA, Kiewit, proponents from the Bull Arm facility, and Equinor are in meetings. They met yesterday, they toured the sites, certainly the two sites that were short-listed for sub-sea work, which was Marystown and the Bull Arm facility, and they signed a feed agreement yesterday with SIA, so that’s the subsea work, so the project is moving as anticipated.”
