Members of law enforcement from across the province gathered in St. John’s yesterday to mark the International Peace Officers’ Memorial Day.
The annual service, held at the Seventh Day Adventists Church in St. John’s, honours the lives lost in the line of duty in this province.
A total of 21 officers have died in the line of duty in Newfoundland and Labrador.
RNC Constable Steph Myers says it is important to remember all who served, both in the Constabulary and other organizations across the province.
“As an officer, it’s very important to pay respect to those who have come before us and our co-workers that we face challenges every single day,” she said.”
