A new driver had his car seized by police after being clocked at speeds twice that of the posted limit.
Gander District RCMP stopped the car, which was being driven by a 16-year-old boy, on the highway between Aspen Cove and Carmanville.
RCMP say the car was caught on radar at speeds of up to 166 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The boy’s licence was suspended and the car was impounded.
