It’s a traveller’s worst nightmare – being far from home and losing important personal documents.

Losing an important ID, passport or airline ticket can create all kinds of panic while on vacation. Local tech blogger Kevin Andrews says there are a couple things you can do ahead of time heaven forbid you end up in that kind of situation.

He suggests taking photos and keeping a record of all important documents before you go.

Before leaving, take clear photos of your licence, passport, travel insurance and other important documents. It’s also a good idea to upload those photos to a cloud service so they can be accessed elsewhere in the event your phone is lost.

While it may not save the day entirely, having some proof of your documentation can assist in trying to sort out a tangly situation abroad.
