A local tech blogger says you don’t have to break the bank nowadays in order to stay connected to a cellular network while travelling.
For the longest time one of the worst fears about travelling internationally has been getting hit with the dreaded data roaming fees that can end up costing an arm and a leg.
Kevin Andrews says it’s becoming a lot easier and cheaper to have the ability to call, text and use your cellular services while in a foreign country.
If your device is compatible, he recommends using an eSIM, which allows you to select and download your preferred phone plan before you go.
Once you arrive at your destination, you simply activate the plan to connect to the local network. Using your own carrier plan can run anywhere from $20 – $40 a day, while using an eSIM costs about $20 a week.
