A 30-year-old St. John’s man has been ticketed by the RCMP for not only speeding down the highway, but for having headphones on and not being able to hear the police sirens behind him.
Just after 3:00 p.m. on July 11th officers clocked a vehicle going 128 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on the TCH near Gander.
Initial attempts to pull the vehicle over were unsuccessful.
Eventually the vehicle did stop, and police say the driver told them that he was wearing earbuds and could not hear their sirens.
The music lover was ticketed for speeding and driving without due care and attention.
