The provincial government has announced changes to the Labrador Air Access Program to make it easier for residents to access health care.
Health Minister Lela Evans yesterday announced subsidies for up to four return flights up to March 31st of 2027, reduced application and booking process times from 28 to 7 days, a reduced booking window from two weeks to 24 hours, and reduced claim processing time from two weeks, to one week.
The updated program will be open for applications starting next Tuesday, July 14th, and all residents in the Labrador-Grenfell Zone are eligible.
Meanwhile, a provincial review of air affordability and accessibility is currently underway.
