An elderly man reported missing from Outer Cove earlier today has been found safe.

Rovers Ground Search and Rescue says the man was located “alive and well” shortly after 6:00 p.m.

In a social media update, the organization thanked all responding agencies and the many community members who assisted throughout the day.

The extensive search involved Rovers Ground Search and Rescue, the RNC, a police service dog team and numerous volunteers who searched the Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove area after the man was reported missing early Friday morning.

The RNC has not released any additional information.
