If you’re looking for a free, outdoor activity to do in metro this summer, one councillor in St. John’s suggests exploring one of their shared-use paths.
Jill Bruce says there are many cost-effective things people can do, including activities at one of their rec centers, attending a free swim at an outdoor pool, checking out a coffee shop, or heading down to the Pedestrian Mall.
One activity, however, that she believes doesn’t get as much attention are the shared-use paths that are around the city.
Bruce says the paths are a new concept for the city that were first introduced in the last four to five years.
She says there’s lots of information about them on the city’s website, noting that people can “spend hours” exploring all the trails around the city.
