Two people have been arrested and charged and a quantity of cocaine and cash seized following a traffic stop in Happy Valley-Goose Bay Monday afternoon.

Police pulled the known suspended driver over and 45-year-old Roy Russell was arrested without incident.

Officers noticed what appeared to be cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and Russell’s passenger, 30-year-old Eliza Gregoire was also taken into custody.

The suspected drugs were seized along with some cash, cell phones and items consistent with drug trafficking.

Both Russell and Gregoire are facing charges of trafficking in cocaine and possession of stolen property.

Russell is facing two more charges of driving while prohibited and failure to comply with a probation order.

The pair was released to appear in court in October.
