A man is in all sorts of trouble after an incident that prompted a very brief police chase last night.

RNC attempted to pull over a car on Blackmarsh Road just before midnight, however the driver hit the gas as the officer was approaching.

Police sped after the vehicle, but the chase was called off almost immediately in the interest of public safety.

An officer continued making the rounds in the area and eventually spotted the vehicle in question pulling into a driveway.

The officer flashed the flights and quickly positioned her vehicle to block the driver from fleeing once again.

She rushed to the driver side door where she arrested the 61-year-old man.

He faces charges of flight from police, dangerous driving and failing to comply with a breath demand.
