Temperatures across the island are going to feel a lot more fall-like this week.

While not freezing by any stretch, temperatures in many areas this week will be in the mid-to high teens, a far cry from the sweltering heat and humidity experienced last week.

Environment Canada meteorologist David Neil says a system of high humidity is moving away from the province.

Behind that, Neil says winds will come around from the north and north-west.

He says, that means cooler temperatures, especially for eastern portions of the province. Otherwise, he says the overall weather will be nice.

Neil says temperatures for many should start to rise again on Thursday and Friday.

He says current forecasting doesn’t have the Avalon reaching 20 degrees, though central could hit the 20 degree mark.
