A 40-year-old man accused of impaired driving is now facing additional charges after refusing to comply with a breath demand and being in violation of release conditions imposed by the courts in Nova Scotia.

Springdale RCMP were alerted around 2:45 on the afternoon of the first day of school about a man driving erratically.

Patrols located the described vehicle a short time later outside a local home.

Police asked the Nova Scotia man for a breath sample, but he refused and would not identify himself when they tried to take him into custody.

His licence was suspended and he’s been charged with refusal, resisting or obstructing a police officer, and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order. He’s scheduled to appear in court in November.
