RCMP seized the vehicle of an unlicenced, uninsured driver after he was stopped for speeding in Harbour Grace last Thursday afternoon.
A patrol officer stopped the 46-year-old’s vehicle after it was clocked at speeds of up to 75 km/h in a 30 km/h zone.
The Upper Island Cove driver has been charged with driving with a disqualified licence and driving without valid insurance.
A field sobriety test was conducted roadside and police are waiting on the results of lab testing to determine if additional charges of impaired driving are appropriate.
