Local companies were among those seeking to catch the attention of global investors invited to a first-of-its-kind summit in Toronto this week.

Prime Minister Mark Carney invited investors from around the world to come to Canada in hopes of attracting trillions of dollars of local investment.

David Brazil, former leader of the province’s PC Party and now a senior advisor at Global Public Affairs, was in Toronto this week to advise local business owners about some of the opportunities available.

Brazil says he was there to “give a little advice to have some…companies here that could benefit from trillions of dollars of investment based on the services they provide and the products they can develop for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.”

Brazil is back in the province to attend the Placentia Bay Industrial Showcase.

He says Canada is open for business, and the atmosphere is “upbeat.”
