A St. John’s area man has once again been charged for allegedly swindling seniors out of cash.
The RNC was contacted after James Robert Dwyer allegedly persuaded two elderly women to give him cash for repair and maintenance jobs that he never carried out.
The 66-year-old was arrested yesterday and held for court on two counts of fraud and breaches of a release order. RNC say more charges are anticipated.

Dwyer is no stranger to the court system and has been previously charged and convicted on similar offences.
RNC is asking anyone who suspects they have been defrauded to give them a call.
In the meantime, police advise homeowners to seek out written quotes before agreeing to any work, verify a contractor’s credentials, and be cautious of contractors who use high-pressure sales tactics or make unsolicited door-to-door offers.
