A man who was holed up inside his house in Gander for hours has finally been taken into custody by the RCMP, which called in its Crime Reduction Unit.
Police had a warrant out for 28-year-old Michael Torraville, who was facing several serious charges. They surrounded the house Friday night, but he refused budge. Police got a warrant and barged in, arresting him overnight Friday into the early minutes of Saturday.
The charges include assaulting a peace officer, causing bodily harm, flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime and four counts of failing to comply with court orders.
He is being held for court.
