The official opposition has several ideas for how the hundreds of millions of dollars government is expected to rake in from oil revenues should be used.
Government is expecting roughly $500-million in excess oil money this year, and last month, finance minister Craig Pardy indicated that they are looking at a “smorgasbord” of potential cost-of-living measures that money could be used for.
Liberal leader John Hogan points to three things he thinks the money should go towards.
He wants government to lower people’s electricity bills, take the provincial gas tax off completely, and take taxes off pre-packaged foods at grocery stores.
