The ability to collect fingerprints and photographs for those entering the country will soon be available in Labrador.
The expansion of federal immigration services, including the aforementioned features, will be available in Happy Valley-Goose Bay early in the new year.
The decision to add the collection of biometrics in Labrador was made after the need was identified. The only place in the province where that information can currently be collected is St. John’s.
The provincial minister responsible for immigration, Lin Paddock, met with his federal counterpart, Lena Metlege Diab, last week.
