A dozen or so municipalities and organizations have been named as the recipients of funding through the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board’s Community Waste Diversion and Solid Waste Management Innovation programs.
More than $300,000 will be shared among 13 projects selected that support sustainable waste management in the province.
They include the purchase and installation of an industrial washer and dryer, and commercial dishwasher at the community centre in Parker’s Cove, the supply and installation of a water bottle filling station at the George Hawkins Arena in Twillingate, and the creation of a community leaf and yard waste diversion program in Bay Bulls.
