A local basketball coach is making a push to get indoor sports back up and running across the province.
James Carpenter who recently created the Facebook group “Reinstate Indoor School Sports,” in a short time amassed over 5,000 members.
He argues that volleyball and basketball organizations in the metro region have come up with plans to reopen at their facilities and he’s confident the school board can come up with a way to proceed.
He says they don’t need to start running games, they just need to let them into the gyms to practice.
In a post to his Facebook group earlier this week, Carpenter says he got a response from the school board and that they hope to have a decision made within the next week.
