Farmers in Newfoundland and Labrador are now able to apply for emergency funding to assist with the costs of protecting workers during the pandemic.
$35-million for the program was announced at the end of July.
The program subsidizes the purchase of PPE and sanitary stations for farms and will lend assistance in the case of an outbreak of COVID-19.
Government will cover 50 per cent of costs under the Emergency On-Farm Support Fund. However, an additional 10 per cent is covered for women and youth applicants.
