Some people in a remote part of Central Newfoundland are concerned that they may have been in the same area where a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 resides.
In yesterday’s COVID-19 update, public health officials identified one new case, saying only that a man who resides in Central Newfoundland tested positive after returning from work in Alberta.

(Excerpt from statement issued by the Department of Health and Community Services.)
Fogo Mayor Wayne Collins says a group of teenagers who returned on the ferry last evening were in an area of central where they may have come into contact with others in the same community.
Public Health has not identified the community in which the person resides, and they say he is self-isolating.
Mayor Collins says people on the island should remain cautious. He says as parents they are concerned about their children.
