Hurricane Epsilon is forecast to track northeastward toward the Atlantic provinces this weekend but it is expected to be mostly a fish storm.
It is currently off Bermuda and could affect the weather in Newfoundland by the weekend.
Dale Foote, a meteorologist with Environment Canada in Gander, says it is a fast-moving system that is expected to remain offshore. It will bring some wind and rain but nothing to justify warning criteria.
He says it will still be a deep, powerful system as it approaches our marine district but all indications currently are that the main body of the low will remain well offshore.
