Newfoundland and Labrador RCMP have kicked off an annual campaign to help sick kids throughout the province.
On Thursday night, the force lit up a 24-foot Christmas tree to officially launch the 2020 Make-A-Wish tree campaign.
Over the last 34 years, the campaign has raised over $405,000 to grant the wishes of kids with severe and life-threatening illnesses.
Make-A-Wish NL’s executive director, Barry Fowler, says COVID protocols did not deter the spirit of what he calls an “extraordinary” event.
In addition to internal donations from the force, public contributions are also accepted.
To donate, you can contact the Make-A-Wish office in St. John’s at 709-739-7494 or by texting “wish” to 4-10-10.
