Police issued nearly three dozen tickets last Thursday as the result of a joint RCMP and RNC traffic services operation on the Trans Canada near Butter Pot Park.
Most of the tickets issued were for speeding and forms of distracted driving.
A 19-year-old man from Harbour Main was issued a $520 ticket after being observed travelling at up to 188 km/h.
Police say distracted and aggressive driving are contributing factors in many serious and fatal crashes in the province.
