A physician who devoted his professional life to caring for the people of Twillingate has passed away.
Dr. Frederick William Woodruff passed away on Sunday at the age of 97.
Woodruff served with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers during WWII. He came to Twillingate from the UK in 1963 where he set up practice, staying there until his retirement.
He worked alongside Dr. Olds, sharing some of his experiences in a biography on the legendary physician.
Dr. Woodruff leaves to mourn his wife of 70 years, Mary, children, and grandchildren.

The family of Dr. Woodruff extends their thanks to the staff of Kenny’s Pond Retirement Home who looked after him and continue to care for his wife.
